We have worked with hotels that are part of the Valor hospitality group for several years and have built our relationship with them in this time. This partnership led to an exciting lighting project across several sites under the Valor hospitality umbrella which involved adding smart lighting to hotels.

There were six sites involved overall; Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead, Holiday Inn Gatwick, Holiday Inn Reading South, Holiday Inn Leicester, Holiday Inn High Wycombe and Holiday in Coventry. This project was particularly ambitious as Octo products were supplied and installed simultaneously, across the multiple sites and their respective teams. All in a very short 3 week period. Our project team rose to this challenge.
This project was not without its hiccups; at points there were issues with cut out sizes and fittings not fitting in the smaller existing cut out holes. However, we efficiently provided solutions for this issue, so the impact on the project’s success was minimal.

We used a range of Ansell Octo products in the completion of these projects. We installed the Ansell Prism Downlight alongside Ansell Octo sensors. This means that the lighting can be smartly controlled via the Ansell Octo app.

Ansell Octo
This project centered around the installation of the Ansell Octo range in hotel corridors, alongside the Ansell Prism downlight.
The Ansell Octo is a smart lighting solution that allows users to control their luminaries using an app or smart accessories. This smart lighting system elevates the ambience and efficiency of lighting by providing increased control and flexibility. This system works by connecting luminaires through a wireless system that connects to Wifi. The luminaires are controlled through a connected controller which enables users to customise lighting in numerous ways.
Octo provides a huge range of possibilities; timing settings, dimming settings and motion sensors etc. All this easy to control using a highly intuitive app. This product is perfect for use in lighting corridors in hotels due to its capability of increasing of functionality and ease of control of lighting.
We were thrilled to supply this product for this project, showing our dedication to supplying the most technologically advanced products in the lighting market. We anticipate that the number of projects featuring smart lighting products will increase exponentially in the coming few years.
