Return on Investment Case Study…
Meallmore Care Homes
Meallmore Care Homes are a family of Care Homes that are located across Scotland, they pride themselves on being able to provide individualised care for their residents which maintains their independence, choice and dignity. Our Scotland Business Development Manager has nurtured a long-term relationship with Meallmore, so when they wanted to replace the lighting across a range of their care homes, Lightsave was the first port of call.
Our valued clients at Meallmore were mindful that they wanted their care homes to be energy efficient, whilst considering increasing energy costs and a wide variety of fluorescent lighting becoming prohibited. Whilst these were important considerations for Meallmore, it was also crucial that they be able to apply for EPC certification, which updating their lighting was a vital part of.

We completed lighting projects at the following sites; Auchtercrag House in Ellon, Crimmond House in Crimmond, Kynnaird House in Fraserburgh, The Grove House in Inverurie and Ivybank in Polmont, though this final project included bedrooms only.
We were proud to complete these projects with Meallmore, after overcoming some initial hiccups, these were completed efficiently and were a great success.

Spotlight on…
Overcoming Unique Challenges
Completing projects within Care Homes carries its own array of challenges, however, our projects team’s high levels of sensitivity, adaptability and astute eye for detail meant that this lighting project could run successfully across sites.
A great deal of planning was necessary for the completion of this project. In many of the care homes, residents are living with dementia and are restricted to remaining in their bed or bedroom. This meant that our team needed to be careful in their approach when surveying and installing at the site. Our team’s dedication to our clients’ specific needs really shone through during this project.
In addition to this, unforeseeable weather circumstances at the start of this project led to some delivery delays which affected the project’s start. Whilst this could have disrupted the project overall, we made sure that all products to be supplied and installed were accounted for. This eye for detail and close management of our lighting projects sets us apart.
The Products
A key feature of the lighting project with Meallmore Care Homes was the consistency of lighting across all sites. Our clients were keen to minimise disruption to their homes by retrofitting as many lamps as possible. We replaced the lighting in the following areas; Corridors, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Offices, Kitchens, Stores and Attics, across all the sites we worked with. Throughout the sites we supplied the exact same products. This meant that all the lighting in the care homes we upgraded was consistent, allowing for uniformity of design and ambience. Here is a breakdown of the areas we supplied and the lighting we supplied;
Hall Wall Uplighters – Philips Corepro 4W LED PLC
Bedrooms and Corridors – Ansell Disco LED Bulkhead
Bathrooms – GE LED 6.5W 2 Pin LED or 12.5W 2 Pin LED
Offices and Staff Areas – Integral Evo 33W 600×600 LED Panel
