Why is it Important?
Our experience has taught us that things don’t always go exactly the way we expect.
To mitigate this risk, we can include an optional contingency cost in your quote so that you can ensure that your project doesn’t go over budget if it doesn’t go exactly as planned.
How Do We Ensure Your Project Will Go To Plan?
Count Existing Fittings
We take care when counting each of the existing fittings that are in place on your site to ensure that we quote for the correct amount of lamps and fittings when completing your energy efficiency survey.
Verify Client Requirements
During our site visit, we will gauge all requirements of our clients’ project; recording specific details like measurements, dimming capabilities, needs for sensors etc. This allows us to supply the correct products first time without adjustments later on.
Contingency Planning
When requested, we can apply a 10% contingency budget into our quotation and return on investment survey. This buffer means that projects are less likely to go over on budget when unexpected changes are required.
What Do We Consider in Contingency Planning?
We take a number of issues into consideration when contingency planning:
– Possibility of fittings and fixtures that are the incorrect size and need to be replaced.
– Client requests changes to project.
– Miscounted lamps during site visit.
– Incompatible dimming systems.
– Incorrect colour temperatures / beam degrees.
At times our contingency planning is not able to stretch far enough and cover all unexpected changes to the project and can’t always include the more drastic alterations to client requirements. In these instances our projects can be stretched and developed into further phases. Further phases evolve in lighting projects where additional areas are requested to be upgraded or client specifications change after a project is underway.
At Lightsave, our projects team monitor the installation process carefully so that contingency plans can be put in place if necessary.
