Spotlight On…

The Guest Corridors

This project was focused on the guest corridors. These areas have a lot of people passing through throughout the day, so keeping the corridors well lit are so important. Good lighting prevents trips and falls, makes obstacles visible, helps during emergencies and shows guests the way to their rooms, guides them to exits and lift areas. The same downlights were used for all of the corridors to keep the same feel and continuity for all.

The Products

The Saxby Presence Sensor 2 in 1 fittings were used in the corridors. The 2 in 1 sensor can be either surface or recess mounted. The sensor senses movement so that the lights only come on when someone enters the corridor area. The sensor has a 360 degree detection adjustable angle range up to 6 metres. All of these features add to the overall benefits the hotel will have from having these installed.

The Bottom Line…

Small Changes, Big Impact

Our projects team met the lighting requirements needed. The corridors now give a better guest experience by being safely lit, making them more welcoming and efficient with the built in motion sensors. The efficiency of the new LED downlights will help with the hotel’s overall energy saving and sustainability for now and for the future.
