After conducting a lighting survey there were many areas of the hotel that were highlighted that were still using fluorescent lamps. These areas included lifts, staff changing rooms, wine storage areas and even a walk-in freezer. The projects team completed the lighting changes whilst minimising disruption to the hotel operations.

The Leicestershire Suite
The Leicestershire Suite benefited from upgrading to Ansell Prism downlights, these particular downlights have a wide beam angle of 60° which gives increased light distribution. Also with dimmable control, this can give a different feel to the room depending on how bright you want them to be. With a selection of different bezel finishes, matching these to the décor gives a better aesthetically pleasing look.
The Products
Signify Ecolink Panel lighting used in the chair store room, many back of house areas now have the Ansell Tornado batten installed, store rooms now have the Ansell Delta bulkhead to replace 2D fluorescent lamps. The Philips Ledinaire floodlight is now in the loading bay area. Ansell Prism downlights used in the Leicestershire Suite. Osram LED tubes used in the staff lifts replaced T8 fluorescent tubes.

In just under a year and a half the hotel will see a return on their investment.
