This hotel is a popular location due to its proximity to attractions like the beautiful Dunstable Downs, Whipsnade Zoo and Woburn Safari Park. Not only this, but Holiday Inn also Express Dunstable is a favorable location for corporate guests with its sizeable meeting rooms and quick access to Luton Airport. This project posed specific obstacles regarding the necessity of dimming systems in various areas. It was crucial that we ensured that the LED lighting was supplied with suitable dimming systems to ensure that dimmable lighting could be used to its full functionality. Meeting Rooms
A key focus of this project was the various meeting rooms where consistent and dimmable lighting was vital. There were many fittings in the meeting rooms which needed updating. We replaced 4 x 18w 600 x 600 tube fittings with the Integral LED Evo 600 x 600 panel. This panel has a low UGR rating to reduce the level of glare, essential in this type of space. It also offers excellent uniformity of cool white light, which helps to maintain productivity. In addition to this, we replaced 50W halogen GU10s with the Philips LED Master Value 4.9W GU10 alongside the Ansell Evo Fire Rated fitting. Finally, we replaced 32W 4Pin PLR Lamps with the Integral 18w LED Multi-fit downlight. This fitting has an integrated driver which means dimming issues such as flickering are eliminated.
The Products
This project required a wide variety of replacements, from downlights and spotlights to non-corrosive battens. The top products used in this project were the Philips Master Value 4.9W LED GU10, used to replace Halogen MR16s. We also used the Ansell Disco EVO LED Bulkhead to replace 2D Bulkheads. We also upgraded the low energy PLT lamps for the stylish Integral Multifit LED Downlight, for a more modern look.
