For this lighting project, many different fittings were used, this was so each area of the hotel that we upgraded had its specific needs met. These included non-corrosive bulkheads that are very hard wearing and protect from moisture and dust. Some of the lighting had emergency function built in which provides power to the fitting if there is ever a power shortage, perfect for the safety of staff and guests. All options were considered when choosing the right lighting for each area.

The Kitchen Area
Kitchen canopy bulkheads used for the kitchen were chosen to replace the original fittings because of their solid construction. In a kitchen area, lots of moisture is in the air from cooking so having an IP65 rating means that the bulkhead fitting will be longer lasting and protected from the moisture and keep dust out. The Philips CorePro LED GLS was used in the bulkhead, a bulb with a long life span, perfect for use in the kitchen area.
The Products
The plant room had MLA 5ft emergency LED non-corrosive battens installed, along with Ansell Guardian emergency bulkheads. Linen room lighting also changed to MLA 5ft emergency LED non-corrosive battens. The kitchen area used Ansell LED bulkheads with Philips LED ES CorePro A60.

Small Changes, Big Impact
The lighting project met all of the hotel’s needs for the areas that needing changing. Now the hotel can enjoy extra savings on their energy bills and see a pay back on their investment in around 1 year and 5 months. Looking to the future the hotel will be more energy efficient with the new sustainable lighting that has been installed.
