Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter
Located in the bustling Northern Quarter of Manchester, the Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter is part of the RBH hotel management group, a long-time client of ours whom we have partnered with for many energy-saving lighting projects in their various hotels. Whilst this project was more complicated than some others we completed, after we efficiently solved it can be considered a success.
Like other projects that we complete, revisits to the hotel established the need for the project to develop into multiple phases. At times when completing a project, further requirements become apparent, and this can mean that multiple site visits need to be conducted to supply the full extent of requirements. At Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter, the project rolled into two phases due to the need for specific fittings to be supplied and so that tweaks to requirements could be made.
This project was a great success despite being a little more complex than others that we have completed. This project is testament to our commitment to project success and to fulfilling the exact requirements of our clients.

Spotlight On…
Stairwells
This project is testament to our project team’s dedication to engineering solutions that best solve clients’ individual challenges. When completing the installation, we found that our original quoted product would not be suitable in the stairwells of the hotel. In order to solve this, we revisited the site and replaced fittings to ensure that they covered the original cut out size. This meant that there was no need for re-decoration, contributing to the overall efficiency of this project’s completion.

The Products
A key part of this project was enhancing functionality of the existing 600×600 LED panels that were in place. Rather than replacing these LED Panels, we installed recessed PIR fittings to attach to the panels to enable the rooms to be lit on occupancy. We installed these PIR fittings in a variety of areas; back office, GM office, corridors, gym, kitchen etc. This was an excellent way to ensure that energy is saved whilst the rooms are not occupied.





The Bottom Line…
Small Changes, Big Impact
The multiple phases added to this project over the course of its completion were vital to ensure that this lighting project was fully catered to the requirements on site.
This project also shows that whilst upgrading to and installing LED products can contribute hugely to saving on energy costs, installing products to add functionality such as occupancy sensors, can further increase energy and money saved.
This project was a great success and Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter can be proud of their excellent energy costs and relatively short return time of investment.
