The Crown Plaza Plymouth wanted to save on lighting for the back-of-house rooms and the gym areas. We successfully achieved this by choosing the best suited fittings and lamps for each area whilst at the same time keeping within the hotel’s budget. Conducting a return on investment survey highlighted where old fluorescent and CFL fittings were and where best to make changes and upgrades.

Spotlight On…
The Gym Area
The gym reception area was using compact fluorescent 4 pin fittings so when we changed these to the Ansell Gamma this area really benefitted from more efficient LED versions and gave a sleek and modern look as well. The weights room had T5 fluorescent tubes swapped for Ansell Topline LED battens giving the room a bright light to give an energising feel.
The Products
Some of the lamps used included the Ansell Tornado LED Battens, Ansell Gamma and Philips CorePro lamps used in one of the bar areas.
Ansell Gamma LED 18W
Ansell LED Topline 4ft Batten
Ansell Tornado EVO 5ft LED Batten
Philips CorePro LED Spot 3.5-35W GU10
Ansell Tornado Twin LED Batten
The Bottom Line…
Small Changes, Big Impact
Male and female changing rooms were fitted with the Ansell Gamma in cool white. Lightsave Projects not only want to save on energy and costs for the hotel but to also take into consideration the overall feel of the room, making sure all fittings have the same lighting colour temperature throughout giving the best outcome possible.
The bar cellar now has Ansell 4 foot battens that are IP65 to make sure that they last and stay safe due to the damp and dusty environment that a cellar often has. These were also used for a number of the back-of-house rooms including workshop areas store rooms and laundry rooms.
