Return on Investment Case Study…

Holiday Inn Milton Keynes

Holiday Inn Milton Keynes Central, features 173 guest bedrooms, a spacious open lobby, restaurant, health club with indoor pool and function rooms. We replaced many function room spotlights to dimmable versions that have a longer lamp life, helping to save on energy and maintenance costs. Back-of-house rooms benefited from new fittings which included emergency and microwave sensors perfect for store rooms which do not need lighting on constantly.

An energy saving survey was carried out before the refurbishment went ahead which meant that we could make sure that the changes to be made were going to benefit the hotel the best.

Spotlight On…

Reception, Lounge & Bar

The reception used a lot of downlights which we replaced with Philips corepro 3.5W GU10 in cool white which gave the reception an even light distribution around this area, perfect for welcoming guests into the premises.

The Products

This project used a lot of dimmer packs in the meeting rooms allowing for dimmable LED lamps to be used. The Philips MAS LED spot GU10 was the ideal replacement for conventional 35 Watt halogen/incandescent lamps. Bell battens with emergency and microwave sensors were used throughout the back-of-house rooms meaning lighting only came on when a member of staff was using that particular room.

The Bottom Line…

Small Changes, Big Impact

It was essential to supply durable and functional lighting that suited all of the areas that needed to be upgraded, Lightsave’s expertise in lighting and electricals made sure that this was possible.

The upgraded lighting allowed for a quick payback on investment of under a year.
