Return on Investment Case Study…
D&D Restaurants
100 Wardour Street
100 Wardour Street is one of the most well-known locations in London. Located in the heart of Soho, the restaurant and club have a rich history as a legendary music venue where many iconic bands and artists have performed. The interior is very stylish where ambient lighting is used to set the tone for the vibrant venue. These style requirements made selecting suitable LED lighting central to this project’s focus. Keeping this in mind we upgraded the lighting in the lounge area, bar, stage, toilets, restaurant, booths and entrance. The switches made in this project meant that our client’s return on investment was less than a year, showcasing the excellent benefit of investing in LED replacement lighting.

Spotlight On…
The Chandelier Bar
The centerpiece of 100 Wardour Street is its bar underneath a striking chandelier installation. Due to its spectacular lighting design, this bar dominates the space, adding to the venue’s overall sense of luxury and elegance. It was essential that the LED replacements in this area enhanced the ambience of the space. We replaced 25W halogen G9s with the Zico LED 3W G9 aswell as 28W ES halogen GLS lamps with the Zico 6W LED GLS ES. These changes meant that the central bar continues to have an impressive impact on guests.
The Products
Similar to our other LED return on investment projects with D&D restaurants, our clients at 100 Wardour Street had specific product requirements so that they could align with the restaurant group. We replaced 28W Halogen golfballs with the Zico 4W filament golfball, 35W halogen MR16s with the 7.5W Soraa GU10 alongside two different fittings depending on application; the Saxby Tilted Downlight or Black GU10 track light fittings. Additionally we replaced 15W SES halogen pygmy lamps with the Zico 1W SES Pygmy, 40W ES ST64 halogens with the Zico 6W ES LED ST64 and finally we upgraded 15W tubular lamps with the Segula 4W LED Tubular.

The Bottom Line…
Small Changes, Big Impact
100 Wardour Street, a historic Soho venue, recently upgraded its lighting to LED, focusing on areas like the bar’s chandelier and lounge. This switch from halogen to LED not only preserved the venue’s luxurious ambiance but also achieved a return on investment in under a year. The project highlighted the efficiency and effectiveness of LED lighting, aligning with the venue’s need for stylish, energy-saving solutions.
