Return on Investment Case Study…
Holiday Inn Express Southampton
Holiday Inn Express Southampton is a sleek hotel with a modern bar and restaurant area. Its proximity to Southampton International Airport and its city centre making it a popular location for guests to the city and business. Whilst on completion this project was a great success, it wasn’t without its hiccups. After completing our initial site survey and supplying replacement LED lighting and fittings we encountered issues. The cut-out sizes for some of the fittings we initially supplied were not correct, but no matter, the springs within the Ansell LED Multifit fitting can be adjusted to the correct size. Overall, the project was completed smoothly and highlights our expertise in selecting the most suitable LED products for our clients.

Bedrooms
The bedrooms in the Holiday Inn Express Southampton had a series of different lamps and fittings which called on our knowledge of different lamps and the latest LED technology. We replaced 10W T4 fittings with the Ansell LED 7W Link Light and replaced 35W MR16 lamps with the Integral 3.4W MR16. The latter reduced the wattage by 10%, hugely reducing the amount of energy used. We supplied the Varilight low voltage transformer alongside these lamps to ensure that there was no issue with the lamps such as flickering or slow start up time. Our projects team consistently chooses the most suitable lighting for our clients.
The Products
This project included a wide range of products from PL lamps, downlights, fittings, traditional shaped lamps, single and twin battens, AR11s and floodlights. Alongside this we ensured to supply emergency coins and fittings with sensors to ensure we met all client specifications.

The Bottom Line…
Small Changes, Big Impact
Whilst we encountered some challenges throughout this project, overall, our years of project experience combined with our lighting expertise shone through. This meant the project was a great success. With just over a year for the return of the investment alongside over £45,000 in annual cost savings, this case study demonstrates the extreme benefit of investing in an LED lighting project.
